Course Description More Details
This course is designed to provide instruction and support to new and non-traditional special education teachers who may need more knowledge related to special education. Training in delivering and designing specialized instruction for students using High-Leverage Practices (HLPs) will guide the course. Participants will also be provided coaching and the opportunity to utilize a mixed reality simulation - AVATAR.
HLPs are provided across four intertwined components of teacher practice: collaboration, assessment, social/emotional/behavioral practices, and instruction. The 22 HLPs are intended to address the most critical practices that every teacher should master.
