Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help students who are experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis.
Traci Roach, will provide professional learning that will:
- Enable participants to become confident in strategies to help identify adolescents that are experiencing a mental health or addiction challenge.
- Enable participants to become familiar with resources available within the county/region that are there to aid adults that work with adolescents that are experiencing a mental health or addiction challenge.
- Build understanding of the importance of early intervention
- Teach individuals how to help an adolescent in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge using the ALGEE action plan.
- Provide resources for ongoing professional learning for each individual.
